Business Visa to USA
The B1 visa and the EB5 Visa
US Business visa is used to describe a non-immigrant visa to the United States. There are many types of business visas issued by USCIS.
A business visa holder is not someone who plans on taking up employment in the United States. Applicants are those who plan on travelling to the United States for business purposes. A business purpose would be a business meeting, exploring investment opportunities, making an investment, or similar reasons.
Holders of passports from countries that come under the visa waiver program do not need to apply for a B1 business visa.
Prior to your travel date (about 60 days or more in advance), the application for the business visa should be made to the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. The processing times vary by each office and should be kept in mind when planning your travels.
For those looking make a permanent or semi-permanent move to United States should look at a program such as the EB5 investor visa program. The EB5 program is chosen by business professionals. Once approved under the EB5 program, the applicant and his/her dependents are issued permanent residence status - the Green Card. After getting a green card, the family can choose to reside in any part of the United States.
