Applicants to Canada's investor immigration program, have help coming their way. We had posted a few days ago, on the large Canadian immigration backlog and how investors with half a million dollars to invest, may end up in a 10 year long backlog.

U.S. Congressman Rick Larsen is sponsoring a bill that would permanently authorize the EB5 investor program. The congressman was quoted by Yahoo News as follows - "(Canada is) actually backlogged which means there are folks looking to move their dollars somewhere for investment. That's created demand for the EB5 program. " He further added "Other countries are marketing (their immigrant investor programs) oversees. And those dollars are going to end up invested in a country and I would prefer those dollars end up (in the United States)."

After all, what is a Big Brother for - to help out, of course !

Will this development result in Canada investor program applicants to switch their applicants ? Your thoughts/ comments are invited.

What are they, Why you need them & Can you Legally Avoid Them ?

As a business owner, you will come across this term "business visa" when you plan to travel outside your country. A business visa, is the visa issued to business travellers. Whether you require a business visa, will largely depend on what passport you hold and which country you are travelling to.

Travel from and to most of the emerging economies, will require a business visa to be issued. An exporter from China wanting to travel to the United States, will require a business visa. So will a U.S. citizen travelling to China. Since most visit visa regulations are based on the principle of tit-for-tat, the relationship is very straightforward.

Investor Visa Network (www.InvestorVisa.net)

Each country has its own rules about issuance of Business Visas. Typically the forms are one or two pages long, but the supporting documents are where the real efforts go in. You need to ensure that all supporting documents are submitted when you send in your application.

Temporary Business Visas

Business Visas are for the most part temporary in nature. This is the reason why the visa officer reviewing your application, will need to ascertain that your travel plans are short term and temporary. The applicant is required to prove that he has enough ties to his home country and has clear plans to return at the end of her business trip.

Permanent Business Visas

Although some long term business visas - also known as investor visas are issued in limited numbers by some countries. One example of a permanent business visa is the EB5 visa issued by the United States of America (More information on http://www.investorvisa.net/usa). This visa is issued to the applicant and his/her family members (dependents). This visa requires certain specific requirements of investment to be made before the visa is issued.

You may not need a business visa anymore !

Investor Visa Network (www.investorvisa.net) is happy to inform you that you may not need a business or tourist visa anymore. Contact Investor Visa Network for a Complimentary Assessment of options that are available to you.

There is an alternate to the challenges faced in getting business visas every-time you travel. Many successful business owners are choosing to obtain second passports to facilitate their travel lives. They are choosing to get a second citizenship of other countries . Countries which have visa free travel agreements with other leading countries of the world.

By virtue of this second citizenship, the applicants obtain a second passport of the new country. Now when they have want to travel overseas, there is no need to line up for a visa, get grilled in an interview, and maybe even get refused. You find out about a tradeshow next week being held in Europe, no need to miss it - just buy your ticket and board the flight. Your family wants to go for a vacation to Canada, no stress on obtaining a tourist visa. Just buy your ticket and board the .... Exactly.

Are you ready for a Visa free life ?

What are the next steps to living a Visa Free Life ?

With the right planning and advisers guiding you , you can minimize the costs and wait times in obtaining a second citizenship. The experts at Investor Visa Network specialize in this field.

Which destinations are best ? The answer will depend on many factors - including your background, investment capacity, how long are you willing to wait, your business expansion and personal travel plans.

If you are only looking at one country's program, it is obvious you will only hear the Pros of the program. Many downsides do not become apparent till it is very late in the process.

One very obvious example of this is the Canadian Investor Program. As we had reported recently on the Investor Visa Network blog (http://investorvisa.net/blog/2011/10/canadian-investor-immigration-program-severely-backlogged/) - applicants are looking at a possible wait time of 12 years before their applications are approved ! That was definitely a salient feature that the applicants knew when they submitted their applications !

Once you contact Investor Visa Network, we go through a detailed phone discussion to ascertain which program would be the best suited for you. We offer a range of options and this ensures that we are not biased to a particular program; but are able to offer you unbiased independent advise on the best program. The one that is Best for you and your family!

No English Needed

when you are Driven to Succeed

In an article on the New York Times, the topic of language skills for business immigrants is covered with 2 case studies.

While knowing the English language when moving to U.S.(or any other English speaking country) can be considered an asset - as this news story concludes - lack of English skills can not stop one from succeeding.

At the Investor Visa Network, we have seen in our dealings with many successful business professionals, that they have been told (over and over), without being fluent in English, they can not make it in the U.S.

But reality is different. So many successful business owners across the U.S, Canada, UK, Australia, and other countries; have thrived and prospered without having strong English language skills. Why ? Two key reasons come to mind

The changing shape of the world economy. The last 2 decades have seen globalization and trade take centre stage. This has created tremendous demand for those with roots in other countries - the demand to build bridges connecting nations. And like a bridge there are 2 ends - the end that is on the English speaking side and the other at a non-English speaking side.Transactions in trade (of goods and services) are more to do with the deal that is being negotiated. There is a role to be played by the linguistic capabilities - but they can not be deal-breakers.

It is worth noting that leading world trade centers are leaders because they have put in the efforts to attract business professionals from around the world (language no bar). Think Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, London, Toronto, Los Angeles or New York - the theme is very much running through these cities.

The customer is always right - As investors from around the world travel to make investments and purchases in global cities like New York, Los Angeles, London or Toronto; they are welcomed by savvy business partners - who are equipped to speak many languages. For example the Korean or Spanish or Mandarin speaking realtor community or the tour and travel operators with multi-lingual staff on board. While this may not have been as much of a phenomenon a decade (or two ago), it is here to stay.

Would like to end this post with a quote, that keeps with the theme of this story -

"In any moment of decision, the best
thing you can do is the right thing, the next
to best thing is the wrong thing, and the
worst thing you can do is nothing."—

Theodore Roosevelt: was the 26th President of the United States

United States - US Business Visas

USA Business Visas

A visa is a document showing that a person is authorized to enter the territory for which it was issued, subject to permission of an immigration official at the time of actual entry. The authorization may be a document, but more commonly it is a stamp endorsed in the applicant's passport. Some countries do not require a visa in some situations, such as a result of reciprocal treaty arrangements. The country issuing the visa typically attaches various conditions of stay, such as the territory covered by the visa, dates of validity, period of stay, whether the visa is valid for more than one visit, etc.

There are various types of business visas for the United States, depending on the nature of the visit. While the requirement is sometimes of a temporary nature, many other times the business visitor is looking to establish an entity in the United States.

The EB5 visa is chosen by business owners for 2 reasons -

a) The applicant and the family members are given a permanent residence status before their arrival in the United States. This is why it is a better option than some of the other type of US business visas.

For many applicants, the process of conversion from an existing status (for e.g. L1 visa) to a green card; is a very drawn out and stressful process. While they wait, the family has a question mark on their long term status in the United States.

b) The applicant can choose to be a part of a larger project, thus limiting the risks associated with starting a new business in a new country. Promoters of Regional Centers have a professional team of experts with them. This ensure that mistakes are minimized and the project has a far greater chance of succeeding.

About the EB5 Investor visa :-

The EB5 Visa, based on a qualifying US investment, provides a green card before you emigrate. It does not require you to manage the day-to-day affairs of a business; you may invest in an existing or a new business; more than one person may invest and you may be a minority owner.

With a Green Card, you may live anywhere in the US, no matter where the investment is made, and are free to do whatever you wish, be it work, run a business or retire.

One may qualify for an EB5 in three different ways:

1. Invest $1,000,000 and hire ten employees anywhere in the USA, or

2. Invest $500,000 and hire ten employees in an area where the unemployment rate exceeds the national average by 150% or the rural population is less than 20,000, or

3. Invest in a Government designated Regional Center and avoid direct employment.

If you meet the minimum networth requirement of $1mn, you can get an initial assessment (no-cost) from Investor Visa Network. Click on this this link to complete the assessment request.

Millionaires Wait in Queue for 12 years -

Canada Investor Immigration

A news story in the Toronto Sun confirms that Canada's investor program continues to face a large backlog. There are about 22,491 millionaire investors worldwide who've applied and are waiting to come to Canada. This is as per Jim Versteegh, a federal immigration program manager at the Canadian consulate in Hong Kong. It will take about 12 years for visa officers to process the backlog of cases.

Canada's investor immigration backlog keeps millionaires out of Canada. "More than 22,500 foreign millionaires are waiting abroad to resettle in Canada, bringing with them more than $9 billion to help cash-strapped Ottawa, immigration officials say."

The current Canadian investor program requires a networth of C$1,600,000 now. The investors who qualify for this program would very much qualify for the following programs -

The United States EB5 program - Processing time is 8 to 12 months.

The United Kingdom Investor program - Processing time averages 6 months.

The St. Kitts opportunity - Processing time averages 4 months.

The European Investor Immigration opportunity - Processing time averages 4 months.

The Dominica citizenship program - Processing time averages 3 months.

Why shouldn't these investor applicants look at other countries ? If and when they want to - there are several options on the Investor Visa Network website at InvestorVisa.net.
